Amend Reservation System and Save India

The reservation system was thrust upon our country by a few intellectuals of those times under the leadership of Dr. Ambedkar. Of late it has become a burning issue in our country whether the Reservation should be abolished or not. Herewith I am submitting my humble Suggestions for amendments in the Reservation system in India and I am confident every section of the society would be glad to accept it except those Jackals and wolves who have the habit of cooking Roti's even from the funeral pyre.

For the last 70 or more years India as a country has introduced a system of “Reservation” for the SC ST OBC and other backward classes in order to help them join the mainstream of other Indian populations which are leading to better living standards comparatively. Rightly the step is taken then under the circumstances and the scenario of those periods, and rightly too it was one of the welcome movements which have helped the cause. Having said that, I would like to add that it is high time India comes forward sinking their political and religious differences to have a healthy and positive debate among intellectuals in the country from all fields and reach a consensus on the following points. It is inevitable to note the point that during debate one should keep only India and every single last person of the population in mind.

In the first place, it is very loud and clear that the present method of the Reservation system has not helped considerably to any of the communities even after enjoying the benefits for such long years rather decades. The following points if are taken into the consideration for the debate I am sure the communities, as well as the nation at large, will benefit and India will come out of this chained dragon named poverty. 

In the first place the Reservation must be on the basis of economic poor basis instead of caste basis. ( It is just like catching and 10000 MW electric line so let us keep it aside for future debate and let us move ahead with the other possible amendments on the same as briefed below). But before I go ahead with my suggestion I would like to request the government to apply a reservation system in sports too. Then let Virat Kohli Pant, Sachin, Rahane, Mohd Shami, Bhumrah, etc watch cricket matches from some office where they could be employed and lesser talents comparitively are recruited under Reservation law...!!!. It is not digestible, is it? Yes, the example of Cricket was well understood as the subject is loud and clear, but the Indian government offices as well as other key departments both private and governments are also flooded with lesser talents comparatively due to which India is growing at a lesser speed than what could be possible in reality.

The biggest and the most important step that has to be taken without any controversy (hopefully) is further benefits of Reservation in the future must cease to exist for those who have once received Reservation in Jobs. ( Ex;- Children of the individuals who have received the benefit of Jobs through Reservation will not get any benefits in future). When an eligible candidate enjoys the benefits he or she must be accountable to safeguard the nation's interest by living to the expectation of the country by living a planned and systematic life and standing on their own legs so that the future generation of his or her family is not on the mercy waiting list of the government. This will assure that the "Reservation" benefits are not snatched away from some other poor SC ST as well as other deserving Indian General citizens who have not enjoyed the benefit at all.)

The above video is a welcome statement from Congress spokesperson during a press meeting wherein he strongly recommends "Reservation on the economic basis" instead of Caste basis. Baba Ramdev too endorses the stand. 

The Reservation benefit should not reach anybody irrespective of which Caste or Religion or Tribes one belongs from in case if he or she belongs to a family which has more than 2 Children Yes, India should accept this ground reality, or else India may get drowned in another sort of wild design thus denying the deserving and responsible citizens of India the opportunity to place themselves in the mainstream of the country's future. I want to elaborate on this a little bit to put more light on my view.

In the above video, it is beautifully expressed his emotions on the need to adopt a policy of an economic reservation system instead of caste-based. 

Suppose those categories who have been approved by the Indian constitution the benefit of Reservation and if they keep on increasing their respective family sizes to 4 or 5 or 8 children due to their lack of awareness or due to their oblivion nature as they are under the shade of umbrella named"Reservation" and all of them irrespective if they are two or 8 will enjoy the protection of their respective future through government and thus all of them will contribute to increasing the burden on the government....what would be the future of our nation or any nation under similar circumstances.

Yes as per the present system they need not worry as the government is there to rescue them with the safety belt of "Reservation", then the scapegoats are other poor deserving as well as responsible family's those children who otherwise would have secured a place in the national mainstream through some valuable education as well as a good career. (By the word "responsibility", I mean those matured and understanding family from (SC/ ST as well as  Upper caste individuals) who has planned their family(Family Planning) as per their financial condition thus not increasing their own burden as well as that of the Nations). 

An increase in the family without proper financial background is the biggest reason for India's poverty. So in a nutshell, It must be a rule that those who need the mercy of government due to the reason they are poor and not capable then they must be accountable too and as a first and most important step, they in order to be eligible for government benefits must fulfill the criteria of not having more than 2 children.

Kindly let me clarify that I have the above opinion under my capacity as my being a Patriotic Indian and it has nothing to do with any hidden motive to benefit any section of the society more or pull another section down. If a family of upper-caste has more than 2 children then they too must be denied any right on "Reservation". It is as simple as that. "Reservation" is a weapon to bring the downtrodden among us to the mainstream of growth so that they too can one day or other grow and stand on their own leg thus can further help the nation to eradicate the poverty tag on it. With this priority and goal in our mind if we don't keep a clause of eligibility criteria, then it is ridiculous, it is similar to trying to eradicate poverty among the downtrodden without family criteria is just like filling a bucket full with water which has numerous holes, it will never get filled.

Another important point is "Reservation" must be on merit basis with immediate effect in all the department where the sensitiveness and accountableness are high like 'Medical', 'Engineering'  To bring uneducated poor to the economic mainstreams can be done through Reservations in categories like “Mechanical Engineering. Electrical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics Engineering and lot many other fields like Diploma in Technical, Diploma in Electronics, Diploma in Electrical related education, including Graduating in Law, etc, But never in Medical, Civil Engineering, and other life sensitive related educations where the only and only it must be on the basis of Merit. (Of course, a little Merit concession must be given to the SC-ST candidates on the merit keeping in view the rural and unfavorable circumstances they studied and scored marks which could be a little less) 

In such cases, it must be not an automatic entry through the quota, in such isolated cases it must be evaluated on the facts and considered on a case-to-case basis. (There may be cases who have scored fewer marks though he or she might be really capable, genius and hard working on their studies, and in true means have strong dreams to excel in education and come up in life.

But the circumstances like no availability of good teachers, good schools, bad financial condition at home, lack of supply of electricity for comfortable studies, etc have to take into consideration, but that doesn’t mean that a 40 % scored SC-ST can get natural admission into Medical college at the expense of 90%+ scored General category. No, no way it must be considered. The consideration can be digested to the extent like whereas admission on Merit is 90% + then in the case of SC ST it can be above 75% if not above 80% but never below 50% which is ridiculous. (They can be diverted to other highly important and cash-rich fields as mentioned above other than Medical and Civil Engineering)

To have a transparent and uproot the non-eligible from the Reservation benefits it must be made mandatory that all individual Indian citizens family (PARENTS AND CHILDREN's data) who is or would be enjoying the benefit of Reservation must have Aadhar card (BIN (BIRTH IDENTIFICATION NUMBER) if possible as per my previous suggestion through my article).
