India Hindustan or Bharat Name Matters

Before reading my article below you are requested to watch this video, one of the superb patriotic short and sweetest video which may help to awaken the patriotism within us.

Mumbai which was renamed by the British and became Bombay has again become Mumbai. Sambaji Nagar which was renamed by the British as Aurangabad has again become Sambaji Nagar. Palakkad which was renamed by the British as Palghat has again become Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram which was renamed by the British as Trivandrum which was again renamed as Thiruvananthapuram a few years ago, Kolkotta which was renamed by the British as Calcutta was again renamed as Kolkatta, Bengaluru which became Bangaluru again after keeping its identity as Banglore for a long time. A lot more cities name was changed by British like Prayagraj (Allahabad) Karnavati(Ahmedabad), Ishwarpur (Islampur) and Hanumanpur to Humayunpur, etc to mention a few of them.

"Bharat" is a Sanskrit word, the meaning of the word "Bharat" is briefed here.

Now the question is that, is it important to rename all the cities back to real Indian names as it was prior to the invasion of the British in India? It is a very important question that may get different responses as per their respective thoughts views and attitudes. But herewith I am penning down my view on the same and I am confident if you read entirely would agree with me.

India Hindustan or Bharat Name Matters

When the USA won its independence from Britain in 1776, the first thing they did was to destroy the entire culture, rules, infrastructure. The purpose and intention was only one thing to wipe out every proof of invasion so that the invaders would become local within a few generations.

When communists came to power in East Germany after the 2nd World War, the first thing they did was to change the names of a number of streets and towns. 'Chemnitz' was renamed as 'Karl-Marx Stant'. 'Leipzig University was renamed as 'Karl-Marx University'. Streets all across East Germany were named after 'Lenin', 'Stalin', 'Ernst Thälmann', 'Rosa Luxembourg', 'Marx', 'Engels' and other Marxists. Statues of communist leaders were erected across East Germany.
.
Again when Germany was unified in 1991, most of the names were changed to their Pre-World War 2 names by the government of Unified Germany. Statues of 'Lenin' and 'Stalin' were demolished across East Germany. The streets and allies of East Germany were renamed. There are lot many examples from the world over.

The name has some important psychological advantage over the local population which is the reason why every time Invaders changed their name according to their interest. That is why 'Karnavati' was changed as 'Ahmedabad', 'Ishwarpur to Ishlampur', 'Sambaji Nagar to Aurangabad',

Names have a great impact on our lives and the best example for the same is irrespective of how liberal we are, we will never name our children as  'Kans' or 'Duryodhan' or 'Shurpnakha' or 'Pootna' or 'Shakuni'. Not only that, none of us would like to name our children in a negative like 'Parajay' (opp to "Vijay" or "Vijaya").

So it is important to know and understand the importance to preserve each of the proofs we received from ancestors in the form of structures which has historical importance. It has nothing to do with religion but only about our history and culture. Names and historical objects stick us to our ancestors and thus help us to remember and keep alive the culture which was passed on to us from them which further we could pass to future generations. Otherwise, the days may not be too far away when without evidence the future would refuse to accept any of the histories, even they may refuse to believe a person like Mahatma Gandhi had lived in India (forget about Shri Krishna, Shri Ram, Shri Jesus, Mohammed Nabi, Shri Buddha or Shri Mahaveer).

Most of our ancestors suffered a lot of bully from invaders and the first thing they did was to change the name of all the places and renamed them as per their convenience which suits their culture and religion. They did everything to help our country lose its identity, by means of mass conversion, rapes, murders, and other severe oppression.

So let us stop pretending like a fool in order to protect ourselves as cool people. Let us have some respect for our ancestors and forefathers who had suffered, sacrificed their comfortable lives, struggled hard, and withstood the pressure from Mughals, British and other invaders without losing our Hindutva, Indian culture, Indian tradition, our customs, and beliefs.

Just as we don't celebrate the birthdays of our ex-spouse (who got divorced) for whatsoever reason, the females no more prefer to keep the last name of her spouse, She switches back to her name and surname which she was carrying prior to the marriage, She may also tend to destroy or remove everything which may save her from taking back to the bad memories of her horrible days with her ex-husband, likewise every invader changes the name of the cities and destroy everything related to cultural importance with the intention to help the locals to forget their past and accept the culture which they want to impose on them. Having said that, I would like to add that destroying everything to the last residue of the invaders doesn't mean to accept any fruitful positive impacts from them if any. Anything which is in the interest of the culture of the nation must be preserved just like even when a couple divorce, they hold on to the sibling, the positive evidence of their association. Similarly, anything which is welcome to the society, to the nation, to the culture, or to the economy must be retained and preserved.

So every country has the right to restore the names which reflect the true identity of the place both culture-wise as well as historically. Is this the right time to think and plan to change the name of India to Hindustan or ever Bharat?. Yes, Hindustan again came from the wrong pronunciation of Sindhu river by the British also it has a religious touch in the name. So Bharat is the true and real initial name of our country, but India had to rename every nukkad, towns, cities to start with before India becomes Bharat. Let us wait and see when it may happen.
