Language Politics and the Reality
I wonder why there is a controversy in understanding the concept?
Amit Shah has been thrusting only on the importance of "Regional Indian languages" for it's astonishing 'words treasure' unlike in any of the foreign language. He was only Praising Indian languages compared to 'English' and other prominent world languages.
Indian government was just trying to highlight and bring awareness among the masses, to help them understand why it is important to learn other languages which are widely accepted by higher percentage of population just for the reason that, it may help one to get easy in case the language was required to get the job or get the promotion transfer etc.
English medium school everybody is interested not for any special affinity, but due to the importance of the language as it is an accepted language in most of the world countries where India has a larger share of dealings...
English as a world language and Hindi as a local national language with full importance to the regional local languages are only in the interest of our generation's future...It is as simple as that. If still some apprehensions are left, then kindly contact any of your relatives who have migrated and settled in various parts of the country.
In a Nutshell, the present government or any government in future could not or should not or will not impose any language on its citizens as mandatory. Instead of the same, throughout the country there must be an option of 'Hindi' available in every school where in case if any student desire it must be available. This is the least option one can opt for.
Let we all Indians among us who are patriotic and think country first above anything else, must understand that a single common language which every citizen of our country can at least understand if not speak would be a huge step towards unity and integrity of the Nation.
We common citizens must realize and eschew from falling prey in the traps of selfish politicians who are just busy finding one reason or other to bring some controversy to keep their future in politics alive.
