Indian Crude Import Status A great signal
Today's news on TOI dtd 9th March 2020.
Hurray, that is really great news for every patriotic Indian's as the latest graph of Import of crude oil has shown a decline in imports in spite of constant un respite increase in 1000s of new vehicles landing every day on the road throughout the country.
Yes, it is a result of die-hard focus and initiatives of Modi 1 government since 2014 due to which India has adopted a pro-green energy policy. Deadline for Electric vehicles replacing, diesel vehicles and thrust on solar roofs on government buildings is one of key reason which has reflected in the above graph where in spite of the regular increase in motor vehicle sales day by day, year by year, the import quantity too has reduced.
Let us remember, the inflation of crude oil prices has nothing to do with the status of Quantity of crude imports. Of course, though, the world recession could have a small role but reflecting in negative is really very overwhelming and encouraging..... It is very encouraging to note that this is for the first time probably in the history of Import record except during 1990 -91 when India purposefully curbed usage of petrol diesel in India due to financial crisis India underwent then, that the Import is declined in spite if the increase in more automobiles on road.
My dream is of an India where India manage to reach a position wherein we could manage to reduce the usage of diesel and petrol to such an extent that 80% of all India's automotive is on electric and production through existing and new discoveries of oil wells reach that much high that they both meet each other in graph, and thus, since then the import of crude oil becomes zero.
A self-sufficient India on crude oil can never be achieved by means of meeting India's demand by more oil exploration, instead, the only method to achieve this target is by switching the automobile industry into the electric mode in a revolutionary way. The same is not the responsibility of government alone. Every Indian must have the thirst to achieve this milestone which could be one of the backbone reason for India becoming the Vishwa Guru.
