Uniform civil code Nation beckons

Uniform civil code is one of the much needed and most awaited reformations in India so that Indian Laws could become less complicated, more transparent as well as hassle-free to understand and implement. This inevitable law is needed for not only India but it is desired by every independent democratic country in this world.

But it is really interesting to notice that the trend and behavior of certain individuals in social media on the issue of "Uniform civil code" looks as if it is targeted against anyone community which is absolutely wrong. 

The truth is that "Uniform civil code" means uniform law, which means, common law for all Indian citizens of India irrespective of caste or religion, without any differentiation or discrimination on the citizen's caste, creed, language, or religion.

This has become inevitable for the reason different laws for different caste and religion is causing a huge gap among Indian citizens which consists of Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Paris, Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs. Sikhism and Jainism follow Hindu Laws as both Sikhs and Jain are an extended identity among Hinduism. 

It is wrong to assume "Uniform civil code" will bother only Polygony, Halala, and a few others apart from Triple talaq for which a separate bill is already in place. It has a wider influence which will affect everyone in the society. Now coming to the point, the implementation of the Uniform civil code will touch the lives of each of the citizens of India in one way or the other. 

Presently there are several laws that are different in different religions and castes which will be merged or dissolved to bring out a uniform civil code. A few of them are highlighted here. 

The rules on Rights on the property of an Intestate diseased in Hindus, Christians, and Islam are different. The same will be dissolved to bring a common law. 

The rights on the property of an Intestate are different within Hindu itself as Makkathayam and Makkathayam are prevalent and in Islam, it is different from Indian Constitutional act. 

The rules for widows, divorcees, and daughters on their husbands and parents respectively are different on their ancestor's Property which will become common. 

Rights to marriage are different in Islam and Hindus. 4 marriages permission, Polygony, Halalla, etc are the major differences of Muslims personal law from others Triple Talaq already changed through a separate law on the same. 

Daughters Rights on Intestate's property are different for Hindus, Paris Christian, and Islam.

In a nutshell Uniform civil code is not only one of the important laws that will come into existence if passed by Parliament, but it will also be touching every religion thus changing every religion's present personal law like Muslim personal law, Hindu civil code, Hindu succession act 1956, etc to mention a few apart from the above-mentioned. 

No law of any country can please every citizen of the country. It is a universal rule that every law of any country when are beneficial to some would be less beneficial or vice versa. It is time for We citizens of the country to rise above individual self Centric attitudes and accept broader attitudes with the Nation and its better future in mind.
