Happy Gudi Padwa Bharatiya Navvarsh
Gudi Padwa marks the arrival of the spring season and the reaping of rabi crops. It is believed in Hinduism that it's the day when Lord Brahma had created the universe.
Gudi Padwa is observed on the 1st day of Chaitra month. It is the new year of Maharastraians, Konkanis as well as most of the Hindus.
On this day the entire house is cleaned more precisely than on usual days and house is decorated with Rangolis on the floors and Mango leaves on the doors. Besides this the traditional Gudi flags are hoisted on the terrace or basically outside the houses.
It is a festival mood and children seek blessings from the elders.
