National Milk Day 26th November
Dr Verghese Kurien popularly known as the 'milkman of india' was born on 26th Nov 1920. His vision and never lasting determination has lead to the 'white revolution' in India and thus India became a country with milk surplus nation from a position previously milk deficit country.
The presence of Amul and NDDB at Anand and the revolutionary initiatives which lead to the transformation of lives of women which world witnessed and it also amounted to become Anand the Milk capital of the country.
Dr Varghese Kurien's initiative was not only revolutionary in job creation and empowerment of women, but it uplifted the women's self esteem and opened the window of huge possibilities for the women from rest of India and of course the world.
