Meghalaya's Deserted=Shiv Ling Gufa= Just Like Amarnath

यह कूप कोई सामान्य कूआँ नहीं है। यह अपने आप में आश्चर्यजनक विशिष्टता समेटे हुए है।

समुद्र के अन्दर स्थित होने पर भी इस कूप में का जल मीठा है (sweet water)।

(समुद्र के खारे पानी में मध्य मीठा पानी मिलना असम्भव है)

यह त्रयंबकेश्वर के प्रभु शिव मन्दिर संस्थानम में स्थित है।

यह विल्लुण्डी तीर्थम कहलाता है।

ऐसी मान्यता है कि रावण से सीता जी को मुक्त कराकर श्री राम जी यहीं इस शिवलिङ्ग का पूजन किये थे। पूजन समाप्ति पश्चात सीता जी को प्यास लगने पर श्री राम ने अपने तूणीर से समुद्र छेदन कर मीठा पानी निकाले थे।

वैसे विल्लुण्डी का अर्थ "तीर से छेदा हुआ" होता है।
