Transforming India and its mindset
A reality which India probably realized and rectifying. It is high time India makes it a point to realize and accept our past mistakes which were as a result of our magnanimity, tolerance, and "ethics" and rectify in the manner India of late has been doing.
I strongly feel the POK and Aksai Chin are blessings in disguise for India which has given it an opportunity to show to the world and prove its changed intentions and mindset from which India used to be. The same will be ascertained when the Indian contemporary government will regain it due to its changed mindset.
Israel is known to the world as an astute and aggressive country but it never encroached on any land. It has become an aggressive country in order to stop its neighbor's countries from encroaching on its land. It has to become an aggressive country in order to prevent itself from getting bullied.
Today Israel has become one of the world's most not only peaceful and a developed country but also powerful country of the world both economic wise as well as military-wise. Israel managed to achieve this feat due to its aggressive stand leaving or pretending magnanimous as India used to be previously before the start of the Modi era.
India has created an impression as a soft, decent, magnanimous country. Who never trouble others and allowing others to keep trouble it. A few of our historical facts are narrated here which clearly point out the same.
India wasn't born in 1947, because unlike many other countries we got independent and not created afresh. Therefore, what happened before 1947 is as important as what happened after 1947. The most underrated event in our history is the Kalinga war of 265 BC.
The "Great Ashoka" has planted the roots of "non-violence" after the Kalinga war where his heart and mind got trounced completely seeing the orphans, widows, handicapped, and wounded soldiers post-war. The same resulted in a complete transformation in him as a human being and he adopted non-violence. The attitude thus established in India got deep-rooted in the minds of Indians and India forget to fight even for its basic rights... You call it the meekness of Indians or the magnanimity imbibed in them...? Of course, having said that, I would like to add that it is good to any culture to remain magnanimous towards the culprits as a policy, but it is foolishness to make it default policy towards any culprits, especially when the culprits are habitual and crooked and with an agenda to destroy the very identity and existence of the nation by hook or crook.
The war not only changed our Great Ashoka, the famous Mauryan ruler, but it also changed India for centuries to come. Indian civilization got slowly adopted tolerance and compromise. Thereafter, for centuries Indians cultivated a culture of tolerance and defensive even on their basic rights as well as the expansion mindset of the empire was totally dropped probably thanks to the implementation of "non-violence" culture in our civilization and culture. Though as a human we must welcome the "non-violence" culture,, at the same breath we must realize that it should never be at the expense of our self-respect, our integrity.
Israel became a strong country just due to this reason, it learned to stand up to its need and stopped compromising. Yes, let us stop compromising on our rights as a country on its pride, on its land, on its heritage, on its ancient knowledge, on its language. Probably Since 2014 India has stopped compromising and the world started recognizing too.
Later the brave and one of the famous King of Indian history Shri Prithviraj Chauhan had shown his magnanimity again and again by leaving unharmed the defeated Mohammed Ghori only later to be defeated by the same Mohammed Ghori and in the first victory of Mohd Ghori resulted in making Shri Prithviraj Chauhan a blind. In my opinion, by doing so Mohd Ghori though had managed to occupy his name in bad books, the same assured them a safe future. Had he responded like Prithviraj Chauhan he would have been destroyed in one of the future wars. (The history of Shri Prithviraj Chauhan repeated forgiveness out of magnanimity had only helped the invaders to establish their culture in India.
The same magnanimity and non-violence attitude of Indians had resulted in easy smooth passage of British traders to get established in India and started ruling the country after spending a few initials trading decades. Needless to mention, the social thinkers and commoners also became timid about their own civilization. Britishers made us believe that we were an uncultured and inferior race and we started feeling pride in English and gave more importance to British education. Though under today's world where the world is like a village, knowing the language of English will help us a lot to communicate with the world over instead of limiting our reach within our country, But, Indians adoption of English during those periods that too with an inferior feeling to our own local languages was unwanted.
The virus of "non-violence" and magnanimity that was inserted by our ancestors (though the intention of our ancestors was not to make us weak) continued even after the British raj as our first PM's blunder attitude resulted in our loss of POK and Aksai Chin. Our lack of vision lost us Baluchistan which requested its desire to join India which was TURNED DOWN by our first PM Shri Nehru which eventually within 2 or 3 months forcefully invaded by Pakistan just as they did in Kashmir. The truce declared by India and Pakistan during the Indo-Pak war of 1948 where India almost won and the Pakistan army and the Kaboolis were running away and the signing of the truce without negotiating the POK is a mystery even today.
The lack of vision was clearly reflected when China entered our territory. Then India's first Prime Minister said, "not a blade of grass grows" in those barren mountains. He was continuing to expose our weakness by remaining and declaring to the world that we are magnanimous to the extent of being self-harming.
Then came Smt Indira Gandhi who is considered as one of the strong PM India ever seen. But she too proved to fail in capitalizing on the 1971 war which is the right of any country that wins a war to negotiate POK too when 90000 Pakistani troops have meekly surrendered to the Indian army in Bangladesh. But to the surprise not only POK was not negotiated but the so-called Iron lady even failed to capitalize to keep a few territories of Bangladesh with India by means of force or by means of exchange of territory to ENLARGE THE CHICKEN NECK portion. Instead, we gave away the exploits in the Shimla Agreement. This action is either visionless or another Pritiviraj Chouhan repeated as then Pak turned out to become another Ghori. ISI came up with a doctrine to bleed India through a thousand cuts through the proxy war with the help of militants in the valley and other parts of the country.
This doesn't end here. Even the Shri Vajpayee government failed to think beyond the virus of magnanimity seeded by our ancestors when the government decided to stop the war after regaining the Kargil which was silently captured by Pakistani forces during the winter. India must have regained a few km of POK too thus teaching Pakistan a lesson to not to repeat such adventures again. (India should have the right to regain our territory (POK) which is illegally occupied by Pakistan). This is again a manifestation of extreme generosity as Pak could cross the LoC and capture Kargil illegally but India cannot cross LOC because of the virus of "magnanimity" and of course "ethics"
But, unfortunately, the Indian opposition left no stone unturned to blame the then government. The opposition of Indian's stand from time to time reflects they are not patriotic as they remain desperate to make "a mountain out of a mole". This is a lack of unity culture even in matters which are of national importance. Definitely, this is not part of Indian civilization this quality in the form of the virus must have come along with British and Mughals.
The Parliament attack happened, we didn't retaliate. Operation Parakram never materialized into anything. A few years later, 26/11 happened. But India's then PM Manmohan Singh chose "strategic restraint". No one in a powerful lobby criticized him. This is as a result of "tolerance".
It is glad to notice that India under the leadership of the present government has started rewriting India's mindset which has resulted in acceptance too worldwide. India probably for the first time tried to emerge out of the shell of "tolerance", "magnanimity". "ethics" "non-violence" which the world has been misreading as "meekness"," incapability" and "timidness".
But I am glad that our PM Modi went a step further as he gave the response to the enemy in the language they understand as when Pakistan attacked in Uri, our commandos caused damage to terror launchpads across the LoC. With the Balakot airstrikes, he still went several steps further. It is probably true that those who are not standing with our PM Modi's great initiatives which have sent the message to the world that India is no more a mere defensive and meek nation but a strong and powerful nation which not only know to defend its territory but could go to any extent to prove its point. Even China has been taught the lessons through Dokhlam and Galway in the language it understands that India is no more the same country which they use to mess up with.
In spite of this great transformation in India's defense policy which has brought India great respect and recognition as a powerful nation, a few Indian's are still mourning the developments which are not due to their hate for Modi, but due to the effect of the virus implanted in Indian ancestors which is yet to get formatted completely. Yes, it is probably due to the virus inserted in Indians' hearts and minds for centuries as briefed above.
I am confident remaining Indians too will slowly and steadily realize this new India which the entire world including our nation's enemies has realized in the best possible way without any room for suspicion.
Thankfully the benchmark which will be left behind by our great PM Modi would be followed by other PMs too who may occupy the chair in the decades to come irrespective of whether from the present government or from the opposition as we are talking about the nation, not any political party. Yes, that will be the benchmark to follow just like how Gavaskar's benchmark was far exceeded by Sachin Tendulkar and the benchmark left behind by Sachin Tendulkar is being crossed by leaps and bounds by Virat Kohli. The same is applicable everywhere including politics and matters important to the nation.
