Ankur Bhatia. ED of Birds Group Passed away
Ankur Bhatia, the ED of Bird Group passed away yesterday morning (4th June 2021) due to a massive Cardiac arrest. He was just 48 years old. His death has raised many eyebrows due to the fact that he had recovered recently from Covid. He was cycling when the cardiac arrest happened, and the same could be an eye-opener for those who punish their body in the name of heavy exercise especially after recovery from Covid. It is very important probably for Covid recovered patients to have sufficient rest and involve in only mild exercise for a few months.
He was instrumental in bringing the Amadeus brand to the Indian subcontinent in 1994. The same technology has been very useful to the travel industry in India and the airlines. Amadeus is running 27th year of operation in India.
BIS (Birds Information system) has been very much a great leap forward for the airlines and travel agent industry. Birds Hospitality services were his backbone company through which he supported the industry in India to a new standard. If the speculation in the media is to be believed, Ankur Bhatia has shown keen interest to bid for Air India.
