Vijay Mallya The absconding tycoon from India
Vijay Mallaya is one of the most familiar names among the Indian corporate for all the bad reasons. He is among those rare corporate tycoons who miserably destroyed their own business empire due to his own fatal irresponsible attitudes.
His contemporary situation though is a personal tragedy for Vijay Mallaya and a setback for the Indian corporate industry, it could be a great blessing for lakhs of "Startups" that have recently emerged and still emerging on regular basis in India provided they learn a few lessons from his mistakes. Yes, if the budding CEOs of today's startups who are about to become tomorrow's Indian corporate tycoons learn the 'dos and nots', from the mistakes of Vijay Mallaya, it would be a blessing in disguise.
One should learn that success is not a destination but a continuous process and hence it can never be a one-time effort, but more the successful you are more the possibilities of adversity and challenges demand the need to focus on avoiding negligence.
After achieving success we should never take success for granted as the efficiency needed to hold on to the success is much more than achieving success.
One should have control over their false urges which are not admired in society. Especially when you are successful you no longer remain a private citizen of the country but you become a public figure celebrity. So as a responsible citizen of the country a successful corporate must carry the responsibility in their behavior too which influences society.
Vijay Mallaya's never mind attitude towards his expenses and his ability to remain in the news for his wrong associations are the biggest drawbacks which one should eschew from as a corporate.
The biggest example is seen in the above video. The NRI of the UK does not have any respect for this failed, absconding tycoon of Indian corporate not just due to the reason that he has failed in his business, not because he is an absconder (though it does have an effect), but the public behavior has everything to do more with his deeds in his personal life as a human being. (For instance, Anil Ambani too is a failed corporate tycoon, but he will not be ridiculed by the public as Vijay Mallaya had to undergo as seen in the above video)
