India has three strategic petroleum reserves at Vizag (1.3 million tonnes), Mangalore (1.5 million tonnes), and Padur (2.5 million tonnes), which were readied between 2015 and 2018. At a full capacity of 5.33 million tonnes, these can provide fuel security for nine days for the country.

I strongly believe that the Modi government is interested in treating the diseases instead of brooding over it through appeasement politics which though could provide immediate pleasure to the beneficiaries but it may end up with long-term grievances which are as simple as that. That is why Modi Government had de-regulated oil and thus it has become market-regulated free from appeasement politics subsidy offers...

Other major useful reasons are to PREPARE India towards Electric VEHICLES....the benefits of the same are many like environment recovery, Ozone layer recovery, India will benefit Forex swellings, Indian infrastructure construction which has speeded up from 11 km per day before 2014 to 35 km per day construction going on till 2019 and a strategy being tried to make 50 km a day.

I strongly believe and appreciate the same that Modi Government's initiative to motivate people of the country towards Electric vehicles are an another reason why Petrol prices are allowed in deregulated mode. The sooner the country discourages fuel vehicles quicker India would become not only a superpower due to saving of forex due to lesser imports but also due to the fact that OPEC countries except UAE will undergo the worst downfall.
