China Bamboo import scam An insight

Just saw the press conference of Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in which he revealed many documents which were extremely shocking.

In 2006, during the UPA government when Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister, Kamal Nath the then Commerce Minister went to China and made an agreement with the Chinese government that ruined the entire cottage industry of India. Actually, Kamal Nath went to China just 10 days after the Chinese government donated one crore rupees to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. The exact sequence of the details is provided below.

In many Indian states like Bihar, UP, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Meghalaya farmers used to grow bamboo and sell it to artisans who used bamboo for making household articles furniture and for making incense sticks.

On the other hand, China too started to produce bamboo in huge quantities. Then they put pressure on Kamal Nath to abolish the duty on bamboo imports, and under pressure from the Chinese government the UPA government in India, declared bamboo to be brought under the category of trees So if any The farmer has to cultivate or cut his bamboo, then he will have to get the necessary permission from the forest department and all other related government departments.

This suicidal move of the Congress government ruined the lives of millions of farmers who lived by the cultivation of bamboo and also destroyed all the cottage industries associated with bamboo in India. After that, all the people involved in making toys and incense sticks became heavily dependent on the bamboo of China.

Only after the Modi government came to power in 2014 did this law get reversed and PM made this statement in the Parliament. He said that they have again reclassified bamboo in the category of grass and could be cultivated as a crop by farmers. The farmer can cut bamboo whenever he wants, He can also transport bamboo anywhere in India. No forest department certificate will be required for it.

Not only this, but the Modi government also imposed anti-dumping duty on bamboo coming from China. In this way, the condition of farmers cultivating bamboo started improving. The true pain is when we realize the same Congress leaders instead of repenting on wrong moves of theirs which had resulted in a huge set back for the industry they have the audacity to teach this government what to do with China!!... Really this is not only painful but ridiculous too. But this kind of ridiculous action they keep doing only due to the reason still in India there are people who either due to sheer ignorance or due to individual selfish interests sticking to the old party though their numbers are diminishing day by day. The same can be easily visible from the desperate frustration of Shri Rahul Gandhi trying to play spoilsport even during Nation's critical issues where persons like Sushri Mayawati and Shri Sharad Pawar had taken pro-nation stand even when they are against Modi.
