Sardar Vallabhai Patel statue A liability or a boon

Nowadays the new narrative floating in the media is "Modi government should have built 10 hospitals instead of the world-famous World's highest statue in the form of Sardar Patel Statue at Gujrat"... Here is my point of view which keeps the mouth shut of every person who shown their apprehensions on the issue.

In the first place, Sardar Vallabhai Patel Statue was not built as an alternative to anything else leave aside hospitals. All other activities including opening new medical colleges as well as 24 new AIIMS (In 70 years there were only 7 AIIMS in India), not only Modi government had approved but also construction started for 24 new AIIMS across the country. 

Let us now go through the following facts to ascertain whether the construction of the statue was a huge blessing for the country or not.

• The world's highest statue has uplifted India's face value in this world. 
• 80% to 75% of the construction expenses were spent in India only thus has contributed to the economy by means of GST. 
• All the individuals who were temporarily employed in huge numbers were Indians only thus it had created jobs for a five years time approximately. 
• The amount spend to built approximately 3000 crores was not thrown away, but it is an INVESTMENT that is bringing a permanent regular income for the Nation through the visitors (Tickets are charged).
• The permanent direct jobs for 100s are in place. 
• Indirect contribution to Indian economy through the shops and other economic activities in the immediate premises, also influencing premises for 1000s of small-time business-oriented individuals.
• GST collection for the Nation is ever-increasing from the premises due to increasing visitors and their spending. 
• Forex reserve swelling too due to more tourists from abroad. 
• The hotel industry in and around the region is hugely benefited too due to the influx of tourists from far away from domestic places as well as from abroad. 

Having said that, within 2 years the tourist center had generated 100 crores of income(Image proof enclosed). If not Covid19 Pandemic had arrived we would have reimbursed at least 1500 crore out of the 3000 crores. Remember, within the next 5 years maximum when we look back, everything related to the statue will be on the brighter side only. Whether it is a direct job, the economy of the region, footfall of domestic and foreign tourists, income through GST from the region, the benefit of Forex due to international tourists, etc. 

See, all the above facts to understand, just mere knowledge of English is not enough, a bit of patriotism in the heart is necessary.
