Vaccine Apartheid USA's new controversy

India on Saturday expressed deep concern and strong opposition to the coronavirus "vaccine passport" at the G7 meeting of health ministers, terming it "discriminatory".

Raising concerns about the idea of Covid "vaccine passports", Union Health Minister Harsha Vardhan said it will be disadvantageous for people living in developing countries.

The Issue has surfaced due to the reason that the USA has made it mandatory for every Indian returning from India to take the jab of locally made USA Covid-19 vaccine irrespective of whether they have already vaccinated in India or not.

It reminds me of the fact when a patient carries complete laboratory reports to a hospital, some of the hospitals instead of going through the one-hour-old report done by the other leading laboratory, prescribe to get the "Tests" done once again...!!

"Vaccine passports will be disadvantageous for people of the developing countries as their vaccine coverage is far less than that of the developed countries," the health minister said at a health ministers' meet of G7, to which India was invited this year as a guest.

This is seen as a way of earning profit to their local vaccine company as well as degrading indirectly the reliability of Indian-made Covaxin and Covishield which has not only proved as one of the best deterrents against Coronavirus, but it has proved good even against the new emerging variants like Delta virus, etc.
